AGM & Members’ Lunch 2025
The Trust’s Annual General Meeting will be held on Saturday 10th May 2025 at St. Augustine’s Church, Brookland, at 2:30pm.
The Members’ Lunch will be held at 12:30pm at Brookland Village Hall (NOW FULLY BOOKED).
Please join us to celebrate the work of the Trust and the churches of Romney Marsh.

Kent Churches Ride & Stride
The Friends of Kent Churches Sponsored Ride & Stride takes place on the second
Saturday in September each year. This year it will take place on Saturday 14th September 2024.
Ride & Stride Day is an opportunity to raise money for Kent’s churches and chapels by
cycling or walking or being a welcomer in a church or chapel. Money raised is shared equally between the church or chapel nominated by the participant and the Friends of Kent Churches which awards grants to Kent’s churches and chapels to help preserve them.

September concert at St. Mary in the Marsh, a fundraiser
On 7th September, a concert at the church of St. Mary the Virgin, will help raise funds for ongoing repairs to the church. Organist Dean Hayward will be joined by the Saltwood Handbell ringers.

Free mosaics workshops in Marsh Churches this Summer
The artists behind The Marsh Mosaics, are running free mosaics workshops at locations on Romney Marsh this Summer, funded by Arts Council England. Workshops will take place at New Romney (St. Nicholas) on 14th August and Ivychurch (St. George’s) on 22nd August, as well as other locations around New Romney. Suitable for all abilities participants will practice by making a coaster, which they can take away, before adding some tiles to a community mosaic for New Romney.

Organ Recital at St. Mary in the Marsh, a fundraiser
Volunteers at the church of St. Mary the Virgin have organised an organ recital on 17th August at 3pm in aid of repairs to the church roof. Admission is free, but there will be a retiring collection.
The recital features Dean Hayward and Stephen Page. Tea and cake will be served afterwards.

Members’ Tour 2024
Our annual tour of the churches, for members of the Trust, will take place on Saturday 7th September 2024, hosted by Joan Campbell. We will be visiting the churches at Brookland, Snargate and Fairfield. This tour is now fully subscribed but we will be operating a waiting list.

A new way to experience local historic churches
The Romney Marsh Historic Churches Trust is delighted to be supporting an exciting new project which involves nine churches in the local region, including four on Romney Marsh.

Dame Joanna Lumley becomes a Vice President of Romney Marsh Historic Churches Trust
Dame Joanna Lumley has graciously accepted our invitation to become a Vice President of the Trust, helping raise awareness of our important mission to preserve the historic churches on Romney Marsh.

JAM On The Marsh 2023
JAM on the Marsh festival returns 4-16 July 2023, bringing arts and music to the medieval churches on Romney Marsh. For this 10th edition of the festival, expect outstanding music, outdoor theatre, poetry, exhibitions and more.
