Volunteer with The Romney Marsh Historic Churches Trust

The Trust is run entirely by volunteers, many of whom have been involved since the early days back in the 1980s. We would like to hear from anybody who would like to become more involved.

Volunteering is a great way to meet new people, develop new skills and give back to the community.

You do not have to be a church-goer or of faith to get involved.

The commitment level ranges from Trustees to occasional volunteers. We can find a role that suits your availability, interests and skills.

In particular, we would like to hear from anybody interested in:

  • Leading tours of the churches

  • Giving talks about the churches

  • Organising outreach activities/events with local schools and community groups

  • Photographing or filming the churches and/or events

  • Supporting communications, social media and website activities

  • Maintaining displays and stocking up leaflets

  • Representing the Trust at other community events

  • Fundraising

Tours & Talks

We know that many local people are very knowledgeable about the marsh churches and local history. We would love to hear from anybody who is interesting in helping to lead and/or coordinate occasional tours of the marsh churches on a voluntary basis.

You do not need to be an expert on all of the marsh churches, but you should be confident speaking to groups of people and have a willingness to find out more.

Our existing guides can provide further advice, support and help signpost to resources as necessary

If you’d like to get involved please contact us: volunteering@romneymarshchurches.org.uk
